About Patricia Saxon

Patricia has been involved in public education for 14 years.  She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Augusta State University and her specialist’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University.  All degrees are in education.  Patricia has taught seventh and eighth grade language arts.  She also taught freshman, sophomore, and senior English.  She has served on a wide variety of school and system committees.  Some include:  Georgia Norm-Reference Test Selection Committee in Atlanta, GA, the Richmond County Linking Quality Instruction to Assessment and Student Placement Committee; at Glenn Hills Middle she has served on Pay for Performance Steering Committee, School-Wide Title I Grant Steering Committee, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Steering Committee.  She has coordinated several workshops and competitions. Some include:  “Color Me Organized” Parent Workshop, Richmond County Spelling Bee,  and the Reading and Writing in the Content Area for Middle Grades, and School-Wide Writing Across the Curriculum at Glenn Hills Middle.   Patricia also presented nationally at the WAVE (Work Achievement, Values, and Education) Conference. 

Patricia is very dedicated to teaching.  She believes in the use of differentiated instruction and exemplary teaching strategies because they have profound effects on student achievement.  She believes that all students can learn when in a caring and nurturing environment that is conducive to learning and applied to real life situations. 

Patricia’s role at CSRA RESA revolves around language arts content, reading and writing strategies, utilizing Understanding by Design as a framework for implementing the Georgia Performance Standards, and providing School Improvement assistance.
