The Georgia Department of Education will host GPS Phase IV High School Mathematics II at CSRA RESA May 28-30, October 3, and November 7, 2008 . Teachers attending should be those preparing to teach GPS Mathematics in August 2008. The four member team must include a special education collaborative math teacher. Teachers who attended 2007 training may be included on this team at the school administrator's discretion. Teachers attending the training must register with both the GaDOE and CSRA RESA so that necessary arrangements can be made. Registration details for both agencies can be found below. The registration window is March 1, 2008, through April 15, 2008. In coordination with the Mathematics II training, the GaDOE will provide an opportunity for school administrators to collaborate and examine issues related to Leadership for Instruction. This will occur at each of the Mathematics II training locations. The GaDOE will forward registration information for this session to school administrators when details are finalized. The GaDOE also recognizes that some school systems may add a level of middle school math acceleration beyond the already rigorous mathematics GPS. To support these systems, the GaDOE is offering training for 8th grade math teachers who will be teaching a mathematics accelerated model in middle school. This training will occur at several sites around the state. Each middle school implementing an accelerated math plan may send one math teacher to this training. Dates and locations are attached below. ∙ CSRA RESA Registration - *Please note that participants must register with both GaDOE and CSRA RESA
∙ GaDOE Registration Instructions - *Please click here to download directions for using the GaDOE registration database. ∙ Middle School Math Acceleration Training - *Participants will only need to register with GaDOE to attend this workshop If you have questions regarding the trainings listed above, please contact Dr. Sam McGaw. |
