About Debra Smalley Debra Smalley has been involved in education for 14 years
serving as a Special Education teacher for both self-contained and resource
students. She has been Instructional Support Specialist in School Improvement
and most recently a Literacy Coach for the state Reading First Initiative in
Richmond County. Debra has taught staff development to both teachers and
paraprofessionals in the Five Dimensions of Reading, Differentiated Instruction,
Instructional Literacy Centers, Georgia Performance Standards, Integrating
Reading and Writing in the Content Area, Instructional Strategies, Using Data to
Drive Instruction, and Inclusion for Special Needs Students. Debra received her
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Augusta State University and her
Masters and Specialist degrees in Leadership from Cambridge College. Debra believes that there isn’t a single child that cannot learn and enjoy learning when teachers use good exemplary practices to make learning an exciting adventure that children just can’t resist taking. |
